Pawlie's Mother's Day Card!

That Pawlie, he loves to get his cards done on time. Here's his Mother's Day card! He also likes to keep it simple. He'll be sending these to his grandma, Aunt Dana and few other Aunties who chip in and take care of him from time to time! The poochie stamp is from the Cat's Pajamas and the pink polka dot card and "Happy Mother's Day" are from AMuse. We used Nestabilities for the oval shapes!

Decorated Desktop Organizer

Here's a pic of the fun Decorated Desktop organizer we will be making in class next Monday, May 5th @ 7:30!  We love it because it's big enough to accommodate 12x12 paper, so it's perfect for keeping your favorite papers & scraps at your fingertips!  It also makes a fun gift, Mothers Day, end of the year teacher gift, perhaps? I, for one, cannot wait to add this to my crafty space. I keep a pile of scraps in progress on my desk. It takes up quite the footprint and I can never actually see what's there. Load this guy up and I will be able to sort them by size, and then thumb through easily with all of the papers standing in it. Thanks Miss Morgan for designing this fun project. A Green Tip

In honor of Earth Day, which in some cases has become earth week, and other cases earth month, but in reality should be a part of our everyday routine...

A few weeks ago I took a Ranger on the Road class with Tim Holtz and Robin Beam and picked up this handy tip...these flour sack towels (purchased at the big bad W store) are great for keeping around your workspace, and/or on your lap for inky messes. One of their great features is that they don't produce much lint when used to clean stamps. So I have abandoned baby wipes for cleaning stamps, and instead keep one of these guys handy, along with a mini mister. A few spritzes of water on the "inky cloth" and it cleans your stamps like a champ, without leaving any residue! When it's dirty, toss it in the laundry (hopefully along with your cloth napkins that you have used throughout the week), wash and reuse. repeat as desired...

Strawberry serendipity

Close call today, I almost did not have a sample to post! As I was doing my usual grab of product on my way out of the door, I had actually pulled a piece of this new patterned paper, Ella Dot by BoBunny, for a different idea. (the front is actually polka dots, the "back" is this cute plaid) Then this strawberries stamp from Lockhart Stamp Company smiled up at me from my bag. I've been carrying this guy back and forth to work for weeks now, and finally, strawberry serendipity. I LOVE the way the paper guided me with the colors for the stamp!

The card is from Memory Box, peony. Scalloped square and square were cut with Nestabilities. The coloring was done with Prisma colored pencils. I added a little "pop" to the bowl by using the white Souffle pen for the dots (this was nice because I just colored the entire bowl yellow, ignoring dots, and then went back over them with the white Souffle pen). One last little touch with Spica glitter pen for the seeds of the strawberries!

Happy Earth Day!

I had some fun with my Nestabilities! I cut a Memory Box card using the large petite scalloped circle die and it did a great job going through both layers! O, and check out the fun Happy Birthday background block from Hero. It's hard to see in the backdrop there, but I stamped it on the envelope too! We so often forget to embellish our envelopes.

The Design Block series from Hero are great for all over backgrounds. I want to mention that they have made them from a lighter wood, so they are not as heavy and bulky as they look. Since today is Earth Day, it seems appropriate to mention that Hero is a green company and the wood for their wood mount stamps comes from sustainable resources. Memory Box is green too! All of their cards and papers are made from sustainable sources and printed with soy based ink! I know you can go crazy trying to be totally green, but making choices where you can (and know) make for small differences that add up to a whole lot!

could this card BE any easier?

I think Gerri and I talked about doing this months ago - combining the Card Art stamps from Hero with the 6x6 paper collections from Memory Box. I finally had the chance to do this one today.

The Paper is from the Inspire Collection by Memory Box. Trim it to 3x4 and you will get two cards out of one sheet! The ink, is Pearlescent Chocolate Brown (of course). The card is from Memory Box (of course).

Spring Floral Collection

It was a busy day unpacking at Scraptasia! Here's the latest from Inkadinkado Spring Floral collection. These are all featured as buy 2 get one free!

I love the Bird with Balloons, here it is paired with the Happy Birthday. The patterned paper is from the Manhattan collection by Autumn leaves (cannot get enough of that one!) The bird is stamped with Oasis Green Versa Magic Chalk ink and I accented the balloons with my Quickie Glue Pen and prisma glitter. The pearls are new too, from Kaiser Crafts. We have a selection of colors, along with new gems too!

Inchie Arts Magnets

Here's a pic of the poquito Inchie Art magnets we will be creating in class tomorrow night! There's one spot left if you are looking for a fun and creative way to spend your evening. These little guys are addicting! And a set of these would make a great gift for Mother's Day or "end of the school year thank you".
