AMuse Inspired Gift Card Holder

Whilst blog surfing this weekend, I found this cutest idea on the AMuse blog from Linda. She always has quick and clever ideas that keep me inspired! So I have adapted this with supplies from Scraptasia. This is perfect for giving a little giftie to a friend, teacher, special somebody for Vday. And I make no exaggeration when I say that I made this in minutes, thanks to the most gorgeous paisley heart from the Kaleidoscope 3 collection. I "heart" that paisley heart!
The finished size is 5 x 3 1/2 (a/k/a Bar 4) so it fits into a Bar4 envelope. Double sided cardstock with a light colored back is ideal. Cut the paper to 3 1/2 x 10. Score @ 5 and then 1 1/2 to create the little fold over. Apply adhesive to two sides and under the flap and stick 'em together to form the pocket.

The finishing touch is the perfectly coordinated ribbon from the K3 collection. I inserted the gift card as my guide, and punched a 1/8 hole on each side for the ribbon. Keeps the gift card snug in place.

O, and this is very exciting news....AMuse is going to have a booth at CHA this year! I will definitely be stopping to say "hi" and let these gals know that they're inspirations reach all the way out to the East Coast. To beat the rush, I will submit Scraptasia's order for the new spring stamps before I leave. They are way cute!

Something else very exciting, Miss Morgan stopped in today to pick up supplies for her next class @ Scraptasia in March!

Snow Much Fun!

We had "snow" much fun in class last night creating this cute set of cards and tin to match! 

We worked "snow" hard too, and made two of each card!  Everyone left with this great set to give as a gift, or as most confessed, they will keep it for themselves and future inspiration!

Sparkly Ornaments

This card is definitely going into the "Dawn @ Scraptasia Hall of Frame".   I would rank it as an "A" list card, a bit more stamping than I usually promote for a holiday card, but you will certainly wow and amaze your friends and family with it.

Happy Hanukkah?

Here he is the, the Hanukkah Polar Bear!  Sledding on by to wish Stefania, and all celebrators of Hanukkah a happy holiday!  (Sorry, it was the best I could do, not much of a selection of Hanukkah stamps @ Scraptasia.)  Do note that cute blue festive Hanukkah scarf blowing in the wind, it's cut out of pattern paper from the Winter Collection by Memory Box.

Clearly Swanky...

I had some fun with this clearly swanky stamp set from The Cat's Pajamas...seems I don't have much control over photo placement, so I have to throw them all at ya at once.  We have a tag, band aid tin (perfect for giving gift cards, I posted a pic of the back so you can see that I put the "To & From" on it).  A very simple treat bag using one of our coffee tin bags, and lastly, pink kitty ice skating.  I was just saying to Shari the other day that this is the time of year when she and I start stamping pink winter things, we need a break from red!  Enjoy!

Snow Ho Ho!

I love this guy, so footloose and fancy free on his snowboard!  Hard to believe, but I think this is the first official Holiday card that I am posting on the blog.  I've already taught a few holiday card classes, have lots of stamps and samples around the store, so needless to say, this is just the beginning!

As always, it's hard to see the detail with the photo, but I flocked Santa's beard and trim, and added stickles to his snow dust! I posted two versions because the pattern paper is from the Holiday Brights 6x6 collection from Memory Box.  The card on the right, patterned paper measures 4 1/4 x 3.  On the left, 5 1/2 x 1 3/4.  This yields 3 cards with very little left over from the 6x6.  Rocket Red Brilliance was used to stamp Snowboarding Santa and the Giga Scalloped Circle and Mega Circles were the puches I used.

The Perfect Pear!

Tomorrow is the big day!  Dave Brethauer's visit!  So about 4:30 today it hits me, I should have lots of samples with Memory Box stamps around the store to wow and amaze him.  This is as far as I got...

So I will have one sample, but this really should wow and amaze.  I used two colors of Twinkling H2O to color in the pear, Mustard Green and Scarab Beetle.   The Scarab Beetle is like a reddish brown color and adds depth to the image.  To highlight the flourish in the bottom left corner, I traced over it with a Perfect Medium Pen and then brushed Perfect Gold Perfect Pearl over it.  And while I was brushing on the Perfect Pearl, I brushed it all around the background to create a very subtle, yet sparkly gold haze.  One light spritz of water sets the Perfect Pearls!  This the perfect card for autumn, and I made 6 of them in less than a half hour, which makes it even more perfect!

I just love this pear stamp.  The paper is from the Infuse collection by Basic Grey.

Gratuitous Somples

Read along enough, and you will note that I enjoy embellishing the English language.  Somples, a/k/a samples, are everywhere around the store, most of the time it's overwhelming to keep up with them.  Some are displayed nicely, most are tucked in baskets, piled on shelves, away in boxes.   Barbara K. fished these two samples out of the basket last night, and I think they deserve a little PR.   I love these, so simple, elegant, appropriate for so many occasions.  True to form, most of these stamps are out of stock, but these cards have reinpsired me, so I will be ordering more! For now, just consider them gratuitous somples, nice to look at...
